Local mom and daughter enjoying family activities in Santorini

From beach time to myth and music — Santorini is full of magic for families!

Coming to Santorini with kids and wondering, “Now what?” Don’t worry – I’ve got you covered! As a local mom who’s explored the island with my daughter (again and again), here’s our go-to list of the best kid-friendly things to do in Santorini – all tested, loved, and full of laughs!

Looking for the best way to enjoy Santorini with kids? From sea adventures to mythology and music, we’ve got you covered!

1. Santorini with Kids: Boat Tour (Skip the Volcano, Trust Me!)

A boat tour is a must when you’re in Santorini! You can choose between a catamaran or a traditional wooden boat – both are super fun.
But! I don’t recommend the volcano hike for kids – it’s long, hot, rocky, and you’ll end up carrying both your child and their complaints.

2. Santorini with Kids: Horse Riding = Pure Joy 🐴

If your child is an animal lover (like mine!), they’ll adore this horse-riding experience. It’s a peaceful ride through the countryside and one of my daughter’s absolute favorites!

3. Santorini with Kids: Water Sports Galore 🚣‍♀️

Water babies, rejoice! We love kayaking, pedal boating, and wave tubing – and yes, we’ve tried them all! It’s the perfect combo of excitement, splashing, and bonding.

4. Santorini with Kids: Wine Museum – Yes, with Kids! 🍇👶

Wait, what? A wine museum with kids? YES.
At the Koutsoyannopoulos Wine Museum, kids get their own headphones and listen to the story of winemaking in Santorini through audio and animated scenes with puppets and real tools. It’s like a time-traveling adventure (with grapes).
And when the kids are done? You finally get to enjoy your wine in peace — maybe even treat yourself to their heavenly dessert wine, Kamaritis.

5. Santorini with Kids: Food, Fun & Sandy Feet 🍝🏖️🎠

Because eating in peace and letting the kids play = ultimate combo:

  • Terra Nera Beach Bar in Perivolos – family-friendly beach with great food, space to build sandcastles, and chill vibes.
  • Mariò Restaurant (not like Super Mario – but still a hero in the kitchen! 🍝)
  • Aroma Avlis (hello wine + swings)
  • L’Albero Café in Perissa – coffee for you, playground for them = heaven!

Tasty food and playtime guaranteed while you take a deep breath and enjoy a rare moment of calm.

6. Lost Atlantis Museum – Epic, But Maybe Not for Toddlers 🌊👀

Looking for something different? The Lost Atlantis 9D Experience & Interactive Museum brings Plato’s legendary city to life with holograms, interactive exhibits, and a full-sensory 9D show.

But heads-up: it’s best for kids aged 7 and up. The 9D effects can be a little overwhelming for tiny adventurers. Let’s just say… some may exit faster than Atlantis sank. 😅.

It’s in 8 languages, fully accessible, and definitely one of Santorini’s most unique activities.

7. Symposion – Music, Myth & Magic 🎶🍇

If your kids love stories, music, and a bit of ancient Greek flair, Symposion Cultural Center in Megalochori is pure magic. Think vintage instruments, mythology-inspired performances, interactive tours, and even a Homeric Wine Café for the grown-ups.

It’s creative, cultural, and actually fun for both adults and kids (yes, it exists!). Plus, it’s hosted in a beautifully restored 19th-century winery that feels like stepping into a mythical movie set.
